Testimonial
Dear Ken,
Thank you for sharing Phoenix Rising. In a short amount of time you
conveyed the essence of the program. I'm not sure if program is the right
word. It is more a therapeutic approach that works with the mind/body
connection. This is what I understood. It was very powerful to
observe you work with......
I think the beauty of the experience for me was hearing your personal story and
hearing and seeing your genuine passion for the work you do to create healing in
the lives of the people you work with. Clearly you are well trained
and very experienced and also very professional in a caring and compassionate
way.
Once I experienced the workshop I recognized that you were using some of the
phoenix rising technique with me on Thursday. I'm afraid it may have
appeared that I was discounting the idea that pain can and does have an
emotional component. I had honestly been focusing more on how to approach
it in a physical way thinking that stretching, etc., is the only thing to work
on. Your workshop reminded me about the emotional aspect of pain and the
importance of considering that possibility. Although I am well aware of
mind/body connection I think I filed away all that I knew. Your workshop
was a very helpful reminder of the connection and an introduction to a unique
healing approach.
I wish you well as you continue bringing Phoenix Rising to others. Your
wonderful gifts of genuiness and humor and caring combined with your sound
teaching skills instills trust and confidence.
Om Shanti and thank you.

What
is Kirtan, or devotional chanting?
Kirtan is one of the most beautiful and expansive forms to open the heart
through devotion and surrender. Although Kirtan involves singing, it is
not necessary to have any musical talent or background, or even a good singing
voice. Kirtan is the music of the heart, and it is sung freely from the
heart. Traditionally, Kirtan is sung in call - and - response form.
A leader sings a line or two of a song, and the participants sing it back.
The words to the Kirtan songs are often repetitions, usually in Sanskrit, the
vibrations of which expand our hearts and mind.
